Singing in the Bathtub

I think I may hold the world record for repeatedly singing "Frosty the Snowman." Lily implores me to sing it at least a few dozen times everyday. She's in a good mood - "mo-man." She's upset - "mo-man." She gets an owie - "mo-man." she just heard me sing something else - "mo-man."

For the last couple of days, I have tried making the song cooperative, thinking eventually she'd sing it by herself. Nope. It's fun for her to be more involved, so now I have to sing even more often. So I start us off...

"Frosty, the ..." (wait for Lily)
"(giggle) mo-man?"
"was a happy, jolly soul... etc."

Every time I'm supposed to sing the word "snowman," I stop and let Lily sing it. She stifles her laughs and whispers it. For other parts of the song, Lily has made up actions for the moments when she's not dancing around in a circle with her head leaned onto her shoulder.

"There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found..." Lily pats her head.

"But he waved good-bye saying, 'Don't you cry...'" Lily waves.

Lily waving came about spontaneously. I never waved at that part, but she suddenly started doing that today. I think she must really know what's going on in this song.

During her bath tonight, I sang "Frosty" for her about 4 times, then started ignoring her requests for more "mo-man." I tried to focus on the crossword puzzle on my Nintendo DS (which Lily calls "dee-dess"). And, lo and behold, Lily started singing "mo-man" to herself. It didn't really sound like "Frosty" but she said "mo-man" a lot and went on for a long time, certainly trying to sound musical. I wanted SOOOO badly to get the video camera, but I knew that as soon as she saw it, she would stop.

I have to get sneakier with that camera, but it beeps and bings so much when you turn it on. Lily has bat ears or something, so when I turn it on in another room, she still hears it and comes running to see it. All hope of secretly recording her cuteness has vanished.

Still trying to get some new pictures of my sweet girl. She won't hold still for anything. Most of the pictures are nothing but a blur of adventurous baby.

I had to get a digital voice recorder...no cute pics to go along with it, but some very cute audio. Hope she's feeling better!
