Baby Girl Wright & Big Sister Lily
This ultrasound photo was taken a few days before Christmas. We had the ultrasonographer determine the sex of a baby and put it in an envelope for us to open for Christmas when our family was visiting. Another girl!
In this picture, the baby is looking straight out at the "camera" with her arm held over her head. The definition of her facial features isn't very sharp, but you can make out her eyes and nose a little. (At one point during the exam, we saw her blink.) You can see her hand, forearm, and upper arm quite clearly.
Lily is excited about being a big sister. We've read a couple of books over and over to help her understand what's going on. "There's a House Inside My Mommy" is a great story about pregnancy from the perspective of a soon-to-be big brother who wonders things like where the baby sleeps, how he gets food, and why Mommy is always tired.
Another great read is one of the Little Critter books, "The New Baby." (Thanks, Rebekah!) This story covers what you can and cannot do with a new baby sister. It has really helped Lily understand what to expect and how she can help.
Lily has gone with me to a few doctor appointments. Every time we go, she asks if the doctor is going to get "Tummy Baby" out. I've told her the baby needs to get a little bigger first. "Yeah. Tummy Baby gets bigger and bigger everyday!"
The nursery is done. The new diaper bag is packed. My things for the hospital are already to go. I even have a map to the birthing center in both cars and on on the fridge. I feel more prepared this time. We have just over 2 weeks until my C-section date. (Yep. I have to get another one.) I'm so excited to have a new little sweetheart to go with my big sweetheart.
